Analogue Photography Workshops 2026 with Oliver Altermatt

Join Swiss photographer Oliver Altermatt for an immersive journey into black-and-white analogue photography. These small-group workshops (max. 6 participants) offer a complete hands-on experience – from shooting on film and developing negatives to editing in Adobe Lightroom and fine-art printing on Epson. Experience the beauty and craft of black-and-white analogue photography in two immersive workshops led by Oliver Altermatt, a Swiss photographer living in Australia.

Designed for beginners, for those wishing to revive their old film cameras, and for artists who want to integrate photography into their creative practice, these hands-on workshops offer a complete journey through the analogue process — from shooting and developing to scanning, editing, and fine-art printing.

District Darkroom - Coburg

The foundations of the black and white darkroom workshop. We’ll cover everything from the multi-step film development process to creating archival black and white prints. Working alongside our experienced lab technicians students will learn all aspects of film development, how to use the enlarger, basic printing steps, how contrast filters work, paper processing, and more advanced printing techniques like dodging and burning and toning for effect and archiving of prints.
